  AMAISB INITIATES SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

 

  In the continuous quest for quality education and instructions, AMA International School - Bahrain organized a seminar-workshop on "School Improvement Program" on February 17 - March 27, 2013.

The ultimate objective of the seminar workshop is to come up with a road map that sets out the changes that AMAISB needs to make to improve the level of student achievement, and show how and when these changes will be made, enhance the way curriculum is delivered, create a positive environment for learning, and increase the degree to which parents are involved in their children's learning at school, at home, and at local or international exposure.

The participants to the workshop were carefully chosen to represent most of the school's varied area and majority of them are directly engaged in the teaching and learning facet. The group was dubbed as the School Improvement Team (SIT) which was participated in by:

The School Improvement Team will serve as the steering committee who will take charge of the implementation of the changes that the school needs to make.

The School Improvement Workshop is one of the series of workshops that faculty and staff will be undergoing for a period of 18 months.

The seminar-workshop was facilitated by Ms. Shahnaz Bahman, School Improvement Consultant and Teacher Trainer.

AMAISB offers programs from Pre-School to High School and follows an American curriculum. This is further enhanced by the Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) program of the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California in Berkeley. The school is the first to incorporate the robotics in the Grade 4 to Grade 12 curriculum.
